On Monday, October 14, 2024, Rotary Club Sevilla International held a lunch at the prestigious Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, with around 30 participants in attendance. The event was led by the club’s president, Sebastián Morales, who conducted the meeting with his characteristic warmth and professionalism.
The lunch began with a networking session, providing attendees with the opportunity to introduce themselves and strengthen relationships, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and camaraderie. Sara Soriano, the club’s sergeant-at-arms, formally opened the event and introduced the various speakers who played a key role throughout the day.
Dr. Natalio Cruz, a distinguished urologist, delivered the main talk, focusing on the important topic of reproductive health. His insightful presentation, applauded by the audience, highlighted the significance of prevention and care in this field, capturing the interest of everyone present.
Luis Prieto, a prominent member of the club, took center stage to present Rotary Sevilla International’s current and future projects, showcasing the positive impact of their initiatives. Additionally, the meeting coincided with his birthday, and in a show of appreciation, he was surprised with a cake that he joyfully shared with everyone.
One of the most emotional moments of the event came with the presentation by José Ramón Alcántara from AFAR, who introduced a new project aimed at providing employment skills training for individuals at risk of social exclusion. This project received the full support of the club, which pledged to host a special event in December to further assist the cause.
International solidarity was also highlighted by Rebeca Herrera and Sensi Sánchez, who spoke about the Mundo Orenda social project focused on supporting young girls in Angola. Rotary Club Sevilla International will back this noble cause in collaboration with Francisco Martín from Banco Mediolanum, organizing a solidarity event next October 28th, exemplifying the club’s commitment to global welfare.
A special guest at this lunch was Ángel Moliní, the president of Rotary Club Sevilla Cartuja, who honored the gathering with his presence and reinforced the bonds between the two Rotary clubs, showcasing the strength of the Rotary network in Seville.
This lunch not only provided an enjoyable setting for discussing projects but also reflected the continuous efforts of Rotary Club Sevilla International to benefit both the local and international community. Without a doubt, it was an event that left a lasting impact, strengthening the connections between members and their shared causes.
