Rotary Sevilla International is proud to have shared an exciting day at the recent II Arroztary event at Camping Kampaoh in Arcos de la Frontera on Saturday, February 17th. Twenty-seven club members, along with family and friends, joined the celebration organized by Rotary Club Jerez International with a charitable purpose.
The event, aimed at raising funds to acquire a vein detector for children with cancer at the Hospital de Jerez, was a resounding success thanks to the enthusiastic attendance of over 140 people. Our club, committed to the cause from its inception, joined the noble mission in collaboration with the Mar Pozo Association for the Smile of a Child.
Our treasurer and incoming president, Sebastián Morales, donned the apron and became the chef, preparing a delicious black rice for the rice cooking contest that delighted all present. Additionally, we had the invaluable assistance of Miguel Treviño, another dedicated member, who helped as a kitchen assistant.
The generosity and commitment of the Rotary community were evident at every moment of the day. The funds raised will enable us to fulfill the initial objective: providing a vital device for the Hospital de Jerez, thus improving medical care for children battling cancer.
It is important to highlight that this charitable project has not only strengthened the bonds between our clubs but has also underscored the importance of international collaboration in achieving common goals. Thanks to our previous relationship with the American company that produces these devices, the process of acquiring them will be more efficient.
The II Arroztary was not only an opportunity to raise funds but also a day of Rotary fellowship where we shared laughter, experiences, and camaraderie with members from various clubs. Both young and old enjoyed an unforgettable day.
From Rotary Sevilla International, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, collaborators, and organizers who made this special event possible. We will continue working together to make the world a better place, one project, one smile, and one act of solidarity at a time. Thank you for being part of this great Rotary family!
