Last Monday, February 26th, the Rotary Club Sevilla International held a special event at the iconic Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, a gathering that brought together approximately 30 members and friends of the club in a day marked by networking, solidarity, and learning.
The luncheon was an excellent opportunity for all attendees to introduce themselves and share their experiences and interests, thereby fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration that defines the spirit of Rotary.
Inspirational Presentations
One of the highlights of the event was the participation of Rocío de los Reyes Machuca, president of the CEDDD Andalucía, who delivered a moving presentation on the commitment of this association to help people with disabilities and dependency. Her message underscored the importance of inclusion and community support, values deeply rooted in our club.
Additionally, we had the privilege of listening to Sebastián Morales, treasurer and club member, and operation manager at Beonesec. Sebastián shared his vast knowledge in cybersecurity, offering a professional perspective on the current challenges and solutions in this vital field for the security of our personal and professional information.
Leadership and Social Action
The club president, Fran Guillén, welcomed everyone with the Rotary greeting, led the event, and conducted the exchange of flags as a sign of friendship with Samuel Totays, a member of the Rotary Club of L’Alfàs del Pi Internacional.
Luis Prieto, vice president of the club and president of the projects committee, presented a summary of the latest social actions undertaken by the club, highlighting the vital importance of our community work.
Rafael Casal, the club’s secretary, provided an update on the progress of Impact Mentors, the accelerator launched by the club. With great enthusiasm, he shared that the mentoring process has already begun for the three social entrepreneurial projects in the areas of education, focusing on providing study aid in Spain for people from LATAM; dependency, centered on elderly care; and health, with an innovative tool for children with ADHD.
