Last Monday, April 22, the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla hosted a significant event organized by the Rotary Club Sevilla International, which gathered 30 members and participants interested in the club’s social activities and projects.
The event was inaugurated by our president, Fran Guillén, who extended a warm welcome and introduced the day’s program. Luis Prieto, vice president, took over to explain in detail the social projects in which the club is currently involved, highlighting the club’s commitment to the continuous improvement of our community.
Rafa Casal, the club secretary, presented the advancements in the impact accelerator, Impact Mentors, an initiative that seeks to foster the development and success of social and business projects with a focus on innovation and social impact.
Sara Soriano, a club member and president-elect for the rotary year 2025-2026, shared her professional experience as the founder of EP 360, a company dedicated to digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of innovation in today’s business environment.
One of the highlights was the intervention by Professor Joaquín Peña, from the University of Sevilla, who delivered an exciting talk on Artificial Intelligence and automation. His presentation not only illustrated the emerging technological possibilities but also prompted a reflection on their ethical and social application.
Noelia García, a special collaborator, presented the work of the charitable association ASEMO, which works to help redirect the lives of people about to leave prison. This project has captured the interest of the club, and we are exploring ways to support and collaborate with this noble cause.
We also had the pleasure of receiving David Hughes, a member of the Rotary club from Georgia (USA), with whom our president exchanged banners, symbolizing the friendship and international connection between our clubs.
During the event, Rotary pins were presented to new club members, Adriana Fernández and Francisco Moreno, who were officially welcomed to our rotary community.
Additionally, our young members, Jessica and Javi from Rotaract Sevilla, shared their experience and motivated more young people to join these initiatives, highlighting the value of service and professional development that Rotaract offers.
Manuel Almagro introduced the RYLA activity, a leadership program for youth that will take place in September in Matalascañas. This event is an excellent opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills while performing meaningful community service.
The meeting was also an excellent opportunity for networking, starting with a cocktail where all attendees had the chance to introduce themselves and get to know each other better.
This event not only reflected the dynamism and diversity of our club but also reaffirmed our commitment to the personal and professional development of our members and to the active contribution to our community.
We thank all the speakers and participants for making this event a true space of inspiration and look forward to moving forward with more initiatives that make a difference. See you at the next event!
