This past Monday, June 10, 2024, Rotary Club Sevilla International organized a memorable charity event at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla. With nearly 70 attendees, the evening aimed to raise funds for ASEMO, a local association with a long history of solidarity, dedicated to the reintegration of people released from prison and the prevention of adolescent suicide, among other noble causes.
The night began with a warm welcome from Fran Guillén, President of Rotary Club Sevilla International. He then introduced Pilar Martín, co-founder and treasurer of ASEMO, who gave heartfelt bouquets of roses to Fran Guillén and Sara Soriano, a club member and future president for the 2025-2026 term, as a token of appreciation for their collaboration in the event.
The event continued with a Round Table discussion on Health in vulnerable contexts and in situations of conflict and/or difficulty. The panelists were prominent professionals in their fields:
- Paula Domínguez: Social Educator, Mediator, and Therapist, and President of ASEMO.
- Noelia García: Physical Education Specialist, Healthy Habits and Sports Rehabilitation Expert, and Vice President of ASEMO.
- Francisco Balanza: Psychologist and Consultant at PSL Institute.
- José Martínez: Strategy and Business Development Consultant at Alkimia Proyectos.
During the round table, crucial topics about health and well-being in disadvantaged communities were discussed, providing valuable insights and practical solutions.
As a symbol of the ongoing collaboration between Rotary Club and ASEMO, Fran Guillén presented the club’s banner to Paula Domínguez, reinforcing the ties between the two organizations for future joint initiatives.
One of the night’s highlights was the motivational talk “It’s Your Turn to Be Happy” by Luis Méndez. His inspiring speech, filled with humor and positive messages, made everyone laugh and feel moved, even encouraging some to dance.
Adding a touch of magic to the evening, magician Peter performed close-up magic shows with cards, astonishing small groups of spectators with his tricks and skills.
The event concluded with an exciting raffle of various prizes, including two works by international Mexican artist Michelle López (Nadie), jerseys from Betis and Sevilla, packs of wine bottles donated by Christian de Saint Roman from El Almazén, gift vouchers from Tachi Bienestar, massage packs, and a beautiful wooden house made by ASEMO participants.
Thanks to the generosity of all attendees and collaborators, the night was not only a success in terms of fundraising but also a celebration of solidarity, hope, and community. Rotary Club Sevilla International deeply appreciates everyone who made this event possible and reaffirms its commitment to continuing to work for just and humanitarian causes alongside organizations like ASEMO.
