On Monday, March 20, the Rotary Club of Seville International held a successful meeting at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, which addressed issues of great importance and current affairs in Spain. More than 40 people attended the event, including prominent business people, professionals, university professors and political representatives.
The president of the club, Ana Garrido, chaired the meeting, which included a conference given by Carlos Rus, president of the Alianza de la Sanidad Privada (ASPE) and of the CEOE’s Healthcare Commission. The talk focused on the current situation and the challenges facing healthcare in our country, generating an interesting debate among the attendees.
Luis Prieto, co-chair of the club’s Projects Committee, intervened to present ongoing projects, such as “Sonrisa de un Niño”, which aims to improve hospital facilities for children with cancer, and the concert “De Broadway a Hollywood”, directed by Alfonso Casado and organized by AFAR. The latter project is the club’s guiding project for the current year, and its objective is to help homeless people during the time they are convalescing after a hospital stay.
Fran Guillén, membership chair and club president-elect, also spoke at the meeting to explain the workings of Rotary International, an organization with 24,000 clubs and more than 1.5 million members worldwide. Guillén emphasized the organization’s commitment to service and collaboration on social impact projects.
Before and after the conference, attendees had the opportunity to network and establish new professional and personal relationships. In addition, all participants were given 30 seconds to introduce themselves and share their experiences and interests.
