It is a pleasure to share with you the exciting events that took place on Monday, October 23, 2023, at our beloved club, Rotary Club Sevilla International. One of the standout experiences of the day was the presentation by the esteemed archaeologist Alejandro Jimenez, who provided us with a fascinating insight into the new discoveries in Italica. In the beautiful setting of the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, we immersed ourselves in the history and archaeology of this ancient Roman city. Additionally, we had the honor of hosting the Rotarian from the Leverkusen club, Dr. Frank, a physician, and his charming wife Adelheid, who shared their warmth and friendship with us, enriching our international experience.
We also had the privilege of listening to one of our dearest members, past-president Ana Garrido, who introduced us to her company, Objetivo Personal ETT. Ana is an inspiring example of leadership and entrepreneurship in our community, and we are proud to have her among us. Before the presentation, our members gathered in 1-to-1 networking sessions, expertly organized by Sebastián Morales, president of the networking committee. These meetings strengthened the bonds among us and fostered collaboration in our professional and personal network.
In the realm of charitable projects, our president of the projects committee, Luis Prieto, presented the initiatives we are working on. He also shared exciting details about our upcoming event on Wednesday, the 25th, at Plaza de España: a family fitness activity to commemorate the month against Polio, promoted by Rotary International. We are eager to contribute to this noble cause.
Francisco Martín guided us through Rotary’s 5 avenues of service, reminding us of the importance of serving our communities and the world at large. Rafa Casal introduced an exciting development: the Impact Mentors project accelerator for impact projects. With the participation of 9 prestigious mentors, this initiative will soon open the door for project submissions. We are confident it will have a significant impact on our community.
Last but not least, our beloved club president, Fran Guillén, presided over the meeting of business professionals from diverse fields. He also welcomed Karin Barki as a new member of the club, bringing our membership count to 28, including 2 honorary members.
