Last Monday, December 4th, the Rotary Club Sevilla International held an inspiring meeting at the prestigious Real Club de Golf de Sevilla. The event featured the notable participation of two expert speakers: Engineer Teodoro García Egea, who spoke to us about his book “Cryptoeconomics” and the financial revolution coming with cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance, and Antonio Barba, a lawyer, member of our club and founder of Trajano Iuris, who shared valuable insights on labor and digital law.
Over 40 attendees, including professionals and enthusiasts from various fields, had the opportunity to introduce themselves and establish significant connections. Our president, Fran Guillén, led the meeting, highlighting the importance of commitment and collaboration in our initiatives.
One of the most emotional moments of the meeting was the presentation of a recent charitable action, presented by Luis Prieto, president of the project committee, together with Sara Soriano, an active member of the club, and Manuel Pozo, founder of the Mar Pozo Association for the Smile of a Child. This project, funded by our club and supported by The Rotary International Foundation, culminated in the delivery of a vein detection device for children with cancer to the Reina Sofía Hospital in Córdoba on November 29th. Furthermore, we proudly announced that two more devices will be delivered, one to the Hospital in Cádiz and another in Huelva, thus extending our impact and solidarity.
In the area of social innovation, Rafael Casal announced that there are already four projects in the club’s impact accelerator, Impact Mentors. Additionally, we enjoyed a fascinating presentation of one of those projects by Nefta Nervo and Álvaro Domínguez to help children with ADHD through gaming.
The meeting of the Rotary Club Sevilla International stood out not only for the quality of its speakers but also for the palpable commitment of its members towards continuous improvement and social impact. We continue to move forward with enthusiasm and dedication towards our goals, strengthening ties and generating positive changes in our community and beyond.
