Last Monday 19/12/2023, the Rotary Club Sevilla International experienced an unforgettable night at its headquarters in the prestigious Real Club de Golf de Sevilla. Our traditional Christmas dinner, an exclusive gala gathering for members and their partners, was a reflection of the camaraderie and fun that characterize our club.
The event, led by the president of the Rotary Club Sevilla International, Fran Guillén, began with an elegant welcome cocktail and continued with a subsequent dinner seated around a large common table. Amidst laughter and conversations, the atmosphere filled with a spirit of festivity and unity.
One of the most significant moments of the night was the election of the next club president for the Rotary year 2025/2026. With great enthusiasm, Sara Soriano was unanimously elected. Her sole candidacy, backed by her dedication and vision, promises a bright future for our club.
We also had the honor of officially welcoming two new members, bringing the club to a total of 28 members (two of them honorary). Karin Barki, of French origin and prominent in the VIP real estate sector, and Nasr Salti, born in Seville but with Syrian roots and dedicated to the hotel industry, joined our Rotary family. Both shared touching stories about their personal relationship with Seville, enriching the evening with their experiences and perspectives.
President Fran Guillén, always surprising, delighted us with an invented Christmas tale involving all the attending members. This narrative, full of humor and warmth, was a beautiful reminder of our connection as a community, mentioning the club’s main projects.
The night was also marked by a hilarious improvised theater performance, courtesy of members Ana Garrido, Gerardo Martínez, as well as the member couples Maite Zúñiga, Béné Jarraud, and Ulrich Büker. Their talent and sense of humor made the room resonate with laughter.
And what would a Christmas celebration be without music? With Fran Guillén on guitar, Sara Soriano singing, Juan Carlos Arias on the cajón (alternating with Luis Prieto), everyone joined in to sing Christmas carols. The rhythm and joy took over the room, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
The crowning moment was a dance session where all attendees took to the floor, moved by the music and the happiness of the moment.
This Christmas dinner was not only a festive event but also a reflection of the spirit of unity and commitment that defines us as Rotarians. As we move towards a new year, we renew our dedication to making the world a better place, guided by our principles and strengthened by friendship and fellowship.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all!
