In the recent lunch meeting of the Rotary Club Sevilla International, held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the prestigious Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, more than thirty members and distinguished guests gathered in an event that stood out for its rich content and the warmth of its interactions.
The day began with the inspiring presentation by Cristian Nila, an actor and trainer recognized for his career in the field of communication. Cristian shared his experience and knowledge about effective communication with the attendees, offering practical advice and strategies to improve our communication skills, both personally and professionally. His talk not only enriched all those present but also reaffirmed the importance of effective communication as a tool for leadership and service.
Next, Juan Carlos Arias, an active member of the club and professional detective, introduced us to the intriguing world of private investigation through the presentation of his agency, ADAS Detectives. His story about the challenges and satisfactions of his profession fascinated the audience, providing a unique perspective on an essential but often misunderstood field of activity.
The club’s president, Fran Guillén, led the event, sharing the experiences lived and the achievements obtained during the last district assembly 2203 in Seville. In addition, in a gesture symbolizing fraternity and exchange between clubs at an international level, he presented the flag of the Rotary Club Sevilla International to Monika Thoma, representative of the Rotary München-Bogenhausen club, thus strengthening the ties between both clubs.
Luis Prieto, vice president and chair of the projects committee, highlighted the recent donation of 200 books to the library of the Alcalá headquarters, thanks to the collaboration with the Rotary Club Jerez Internacional and the generous contribution of José Baratech, as well as the purchase of a new vein detection device for the Hospital de Jerez, thanks to collaboration with the same club and funded by the II Arroztary organized by this.
Rafael Casal, the club’s secretary, updated members on the progress of the project mentoring program within the club’s Impact Accelerator initiative. This program is key to supporting and enhancing social impact projects, once again demonstrating our commitment to sustainable development and the well-being of our communities.
Finally, Sara Soriano presented an exciting new project for the empowerment of girls in Angola, in collaboration with the Mundo Orenda association. This project not only reflects the charitable spirit of our club but also emphasizes the importance of working for the empowerment of women and girls worldwide, a line of work sponsored by Rotary International.
The lunch meeting of the Rotary Club Sevilla International was a clear reflection of our dedication to friendship, service, and excellence. Through these activities and projects, we continue to forge a better future for our community and the world. We thank all the members and friends of the club for their tireless effort and invite them to continue actively participating in our initiatives. Together, we make a difference.
