On Thursday, May 23, 2024 members of the Rotary Club Sevilla International delivered a Sifvein vein detection device, from the company SIFSOF, to the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital in Huelva. This device is specifically designed for vein detection in hospitalized children, thereby facilitating the work of medical staff and improving the experience of young patients.
The handover ceremony was attended by the club’s president, Fran Guillén, club member and president-elect for 2025-26, Sara Soriano, and the club’s secretary, Rafael Casal. Manuel Pozo, founder of the Asociación Mar Pozo por la Sonrisa de un Niño, also attended, actively supporting these charitable initiatives.
The medical team of the pediatric ward at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital expressed their delight after testing the device, highlighting its usefulness. They thanked the Rotary Club Sevilla International for the donation, made possible by a fundraising event organized by the club in 2023. This event featured the famous comedic duo Los Compadres and was attended by around 100 people. Additionally, the donation was supported by a grant from Rotary International District 2203.
Rotary Club Sevilla International extends its deepest gratitude to SIFSOF for providing the vein detection device under more favorable conditions than the market. Their generosity and commitment to this noble cause were crucial in making this important donation possible. Thanks to their support, we can continue improving pediatric healthcare and contribute to the well-being of hospitalized children.
This is not the first time that Rotary Club Sevilla International has made such a donation. Previously, a similar device was donated to the Reina Sofía Hospital in Córdoba. Additionally, the Asociación Mar Pozo por la Sonrisa de un Niño has made deliveries in Seville and Almería.
The club has also started collaborations with other Rotary clubs, such as Rotary Club Jerez Internacional, which recently secured a similar device for the Hospital de Jerez.
